Release date: December 2017
An upgrade is required to the RecordPoint SharePoint Online App for this release. For more information, see Software Upgrade.
This release contains an upgrade to the SharePoint CSOM library. As part of the upgrade process, perform a 'Local Deployment' targeting each SharePoint server in your farm. For more information, see Local Deployment.
The new CSOM library version used by 365Connect is 16.1.7115.1200.
This release adds new event receivers to the 365Connect installation in your SharePoint Online environment. New installations will get the event receivers automatically, but existing installations should perform a service upgrade following the steps listed here: Upgrade the RecordPoint Online Service
These new event receivers are required for a bugfix in the 1.56 release - Resubmission required when document moved using SharePoint Online 'Move To' modern library experience.
If the 'Install Event Receivers' process linked above is not followed, there is no impact to the tenancy, the fix will simply not be applied.
365Connect 1.56 brings new features, enhancements and bug fixes to improve your Office365 Records Management platform.
For guidance on installing or upgrading to 365 Connect 1.56, see Installation, Upgrade and Configuration.
Special Character support in SharePoint Online filenames
SharePoint Online has recently released support for special characters # and % in file names. 365Connect now leverages the new APIs required to support these and explicitly supports submission of records containing these characters in the filename.
Record Import API can ignore permissions
Items from SharePoint Online with large sets of unique permissions (for example, as the result of heavy use of the SharePoint Online 'Sharing Link' feature) can impact record processing throughput on imports of large amounts of content. The Record Import API now accepts an optional parameter, IncludePermssions. When this is set, imported records will not have their permissions captured and applied to the record in RecordPoint. When this is set to False, imported records will not have their permissions captured and applied to the record in RecordPoint. The default behaviour of this parameter remains set to True.
Bugs fixed in this release
Release version 1.56 includes all bugs resolved since version 1.55, including:
- Resubmission required when document moved using SharePoint Online 'Move To' modern library experience
- Documents not correctly submitted to RecordPoint when copied using SharePoint Online 'Copy To' modern library experience
