Audit Information

The events that you select to audit in SharePoint Online are also captured on their respective record in RecordPoint. The audit information captures the following information for the events that are selected to be audited.

  • Site from which an event originated

  • Item ID, type, name, and location

  • User ID associated with the event

  • Event type, date, time, and source

  • Action taken on the item

Configuring RecordPoint Auditing

RecordPoint respects the auditing settings of SharePoint Online whereby the audit reports located in the SharePoint Online configured location are processed into RecordPoint. To configure RecordPoint to match that of SharePoint Online perform the following steps.

  1. Go to O365 Admin→ SharePoint
  2. Apps
  3. App Catalogue
  4. Go to Site Contents
  5. Select RecordPoint Application
  6. In the Configuration menu on the navigation bar, select Sites
  7. Select Site to configure auditing for
  8. Set the Audit Library entry to that of the location set in the SharePoint Online auditing configuration settings.
  9. Click Save
